Some legal issues are that in some states you might need a pilot certificate or license to operate these drones even though they don’t need a person in the cockpit. If someone does not follow Small UAS Rule (Part 107), they will get fined or charged. Small UAS Rule (Part 107) are rules and regulations to follow once you have received your certificate. For example, one rule is that you cannot fly near any other manned aircraft. Even officers of the law while operating a drone must follow the state and federal rules and regulations. Even recording someone without their consent is a big legal issue when it comes to drones. Private agencies and police departments are using drones to do recon on people’s private property and the public does not like it because all law enforcement require search warrants to enter houses or look through property. This drone makes it so easy for invasion of privacy. One other legal aspect is that you can get sued. Let’s say the operator loses control of the drone as it suddenly begins falling down at an uncontrollable and dangerous pace thus inflicting serious harm to someone. The injured person would be able to file a lawsuit, and if things keep happening like this, they might keep putting tighter restrictions on drones. Instead of a person you might hit property and will have to pay for that as well. Depending on the property damage it may be expensive, and you may not be able to pay it all at once. You may even have to make a contract with the property owner to do some sort of monthly payment until you pay it off. There are a lot of legal implications one will have to deal with if the pilot breaks any laws.
